The group-based Diabetes Prevention Program (DPP) at UC Davis is a non-diet approach to preventing type 2 diabetes. The yearlong program is based on a CDC-approved curriculum and the small cohort is a support group of adults with similar goals and challenges. A trained lifestyle coach facilitates discussion on healthy eating, ways to increase physical activity, stress management techniques, and ideas to stay motivated. This program is free to the UC community at high risk for developing type 2 diabetes.
Not sure if you’re at risk for Type 2 diabetes? Take a quick quiz to find out. The sooner you know about your risk level, the sooner you can take action to prevent it.
See if you qualify for this free UC Davis program by completing the interest survey. Cohorts will begin in Jan. 2024. All sessions will be held virtually over Zoom.
