This hour-long course is intended for employees who work outdoors or indoors. The content in this course is designed to comply with the Cal/OSHA Heat Illness Prevention Standard, Title 8 California Code of Regulations Section 3395. Course objectives include:
- Planning to develop and implement written procedures for complying with the Cal/OSHA Heat Illness Prevention Standard.
- Training all employees and supervisors about heat illness prevention.
- Providing enough fresh water so that each employee can drink at least 1 quart per hour and encourage them to do so.
- Providing access to shaded areas or cool-down areas to prevent or recover from heat illness and where employees can take rest breaks.
**PLEASE NOTE: The Learning Management System (LMS), where trainings are housed, is set up for employees. If you are a student or visiting scholar, you must request access to the system before you can complete your training. Please email hr-learning@ucdavis.edu to request access to the system.
Required for all supervisors and employees working at outdoor locations.
