This training provides an overview of the secure use of controlled substances and is intended to support compliance with university policies and regulatory requirements. Course objectives include:

• Identifying factors that may affect you when working in a cold environment.
• Understanding Controlled Substances Use Authorization (CSUA).
• Identifying storage site controls and security requirements.
• Reviewing procedures for ordering, delivery, and receipt of controlled substances.
• Maintaining accurate usage logs and conducting biennial inventory.
• Understanding requirements for transfers, imports, and exports.
• Identifying proper disposal procedures for controlled substances.
• Recognizing diversion, loss reporting requirements, and illicit activities.
• Understanding repercussions for affected staff, users, and exposed employees.
