What does Wellness mean to you?

Wellness means finding balance in physical, mental, emotional, and social aspects of life, while prioritizing self-care and making choices that support our overall happiness and health.
 

Why did you become a wellness ambassador?

I became a wellness ambassador because I’m passionate about supporting others in their journey toward better health and balance. I firmly believe in the power of small, meaningful changes to enhance overall well-being, and I wanted to help create a positive, supportive environment where people feel encouraged to prioritize themselves.
 

How long have you been a wellness ambassador?

I've been a Wellness Ambassador since July 2022.

 

What has been the most rewarding or positive part about your experience thus far?

Knowing I can contribute to fostering a culture of wellness and balance has been incredibly fulfilling.
 
 

What are some challenges you face as a wellness ambassador?

The biggest challenge is encouraging others to prioritize wellness amid busy schedules while balancing my own commitments to stay consistent in offering support.
 
 

What is one piece of advice you would like to share with new wellness ambassadors?

One piece of advice for new wellness ambassadors is to get creative with your approach—try new ideas and tailor them to your group’s needs. Regularly check in with colleagues, and don’t hesitate to ask for feedback and suggestions to make your initiatives more engaging and effective. Collaboration and connection make all the difference!

 

Staff and Faculty Health and Well-being aims to build an environment that makes the healthier choice the easier one, while providing staff and faculty with the required support to make UC Davis the healthiest community. How do you feel you have contributed to our mission?

I’ve contributed to the mission by fostering wellness through check-ins, creative ideas, and open communication. Encouraging healthier choices and offering tailored support has helped make well-being more accessible and rewarding for our community.
 

What is your favorite thing to do in your spare time?

In my spare time, I love taking walks outdoors—it helps me clear my mind and recharge. I also enjoy playing tennis, cooking, or spending time with loved ones.
