Radioactive Materials (RAM)

This 60 minute course is intended for employees who work with or may be exposed to radioactive materials. It provides an introduction to sources of radiation, exposure limits, risk evaluation, and essential safety precautions. This course meets Cal/OSHA regulations. Course objectives include:

• Identifying common sources of radiation and types of exposure.
• Understanding radiation exposure limits and associated risks.
• Recognizing hazards related to working with radioactive materials.
• Identifying methods for exposure control.
• Understanding proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
