Course duration estimate: 15 mins

This 15 minute course is required for all Principal Investigators (PI) and Co-PIs whose research involves recombinant DNA research subject to the NIH Guidelines for Research Involving Recombinant DNA Molecules, in order to explain the basis of the Biological Use Authorization process. Course objectives include:

• Providing an overview of the PI responsibilities as detailed in the NIH Guidelines.
• Reviewing the Biological Use Authorization and authorization amendment process for recombinant DNA research.
• Explaining PI responsibilities.
