Hazardous Waste Management

This 25 minute course is intended for affected staff, users, and employees who may be exposed to hazardous waste. It provides an overview of proper determination and management of hazardous waste, including regulatory requirements and safe handling practices. This course meets UC Policy and Cal/OSHA regulations. Course objectives include:

• Identifying different types of hazardous waste, including physical, chemical, biohazardous, radioactive, and mixed waste.
• Explaining proper labeling requirements for hazardous waste.
• Identifying safe storage practices for hazardous waste.
• Understanding appropriate treatment and disposal methods.
• Recognizing compliance requirements for handling hazardous waste safely.
