Flu and COVID Vaccinations Strongly Recommended

The University of California strongly recommends that all employees receive both the flu and COVID-19 vaccines by Dec. 15

Healthcare Workers

Healthcare workers on the Davis campus are required to receive and report your flu vaccination by Nov. 1, or submit a declination form.

Healthcare workers who decline vaccination may be required to follow local or state public health guidance, including face-covering requirements or other non-pharmaceutical interventions.

Why it matters

Flu and COVID-19 vaccination help protect our UC Davis community, especially those at higher risk of severe illness. The California Department of Public Health recommends everyone six months and older get vaccinated for influenza annually.

All health insurance plans cover influenza vaccinations, though some limit where you can receive the shot at no cost. Academics and staff on the Davis campus should contact their healthcare provider to learn where to get their flu vaccine.
