Safety Services New Certified Industrial Hygienist
Welcome Suman Dhal, Safety Services new certified Industrial Hygienist!
Join us in congratulating EH&S' Suman Dhal on her recent completion of the Industrial Hygienist certification, issued by the Board for Global EHS Credentialing. Industrial Hygienists (IH) protect the health and safety of workers and the public by identifying and investigating chemical, physical, or biological hazards and suggesting plans to eliminate or minimize them.
With four years of work experience in IH and holding a Master of Public Health, Suman was prepared for the designation.
The CIH or Certified Industrial Hygienist designation requires a combination of education and work experience as an IH. The final step to becoming a CIH is a tough exam, which Suman completed in May 2021. One resource she would recommend for the exam prep, because the volume of content is so large, is to go through the Bowen CIH Exam prep course. The course helps narrow down the content to certain focus areas.
"I cannot express how valuable all the practice questions are. All together, it took approximately 3 months of studying but I would recommend more for those who haven’t done IH coursework in the past which I did through my MPH."
