Workers' Compensation
Oversees the campus self-insured Workers' Compensation program, including compliance with state law and campus policies and procedures, claims management, counseling and advising services to management and employees, and statistics and trend analyses on campus work-related injuries/illnesses.
WORKERS’ COMPENSATION INJURY REPORTING:
Work-related injuries or illnesses must be immediately reported to Workers Compensation* and the employee (for non-emergency, during regular work hours) sent to Employee Health (501 Oak Ave., call first) or Sutter ER (after hours/emergency). Supervisor (or next responsible person) is to accompany the employee to ER. (Make sure your employees let you know of ‘extended hospitalization and ‘Return to Work’ restrictions);
Regular Work Hours : Mon-Fri (8am – 5pm):
Call 530-757-3200 (Employee Health Services) & schedule an appointment for the employee
2. Complete the employee’s section: "UCD Employer’s Report of Occupational Injury or Illness", employee brings to the clinic
Outside of normal business hours:

If medical treatment is necessary, send to Sutter Health (Davis) or the closest medical treatment facility

Call 877-682-7778 to report the work-related injury/illness and file a WC claim.

UC Davis WC will be notified by Sedgwick/CMS

NOTE: Reporting injuries to a 1-800 number: You now have the option to report your work incurred injuries directly to the University's third party insurance carrier, Sedgwick. Before reporting make sure your supervisor is informed of your injury. To report a claim call 1-877-682-7778.
