1) Slip Hazards: Report slick walking surfaces to custodial and wear proper shoes
2) Bike Safety: As a pedestrian, be wary of bicyclists, don't assume they see you, if 'caught in traffic', freeze, don't move until there is a clear path to get out of the way
3) Back injuries, use a hand cart, get assistance and avoid bending at the waist
NOTICE: Limited 2009-2010 Be Smart About Safety funds are available for either; 1) "High risk reduction" equipment needs, but 2) mostly for work station equipment (i.e new mouse, keyboard, chair, etc) under the matching program (up to $500/work station) for cases where employees are 'presently' experiencing malingering discomfort . Fill out the following two forms below supported by a Tier I, II or II ergonomic evaluation and send to Bob Wachter in Occupational Health (501 Oak Ave.) Call with questions 530-297-4605.
