Description: This course is required for all Principal Investigators and Co-PIs whose research involves recombinant DNA research subject to the NIH Guidelines for Research Involving Recombinant DNA Molecules.

Goals: To inform investigators regarding their responsibilities as outlined in the NIH Guidelines. To explain the basics of the Biological Use Authorization process.

Objectives: Provide an overview of the PI responsibilities as detailed in the NIH Guidelines. Review the Biological Use Authorization and authorization amendment process for recombinant DNA research.

Course duration estimate:

15 minutes

Required for Principal Investigators who plan to work with recombinant DNA.
