Lab Safety for Support Personnel

**PLEASE NOTE: The Learning Management Systen (LMS), where trainings are housed, is set up for employees. If you are a student or visiting scholar, you must request access to the system before you can complete your training. Please email sdps@ucdavis.edu to request access to the system.

This course is designed for individuals who may enter a laboratory to provide a support function, but do not routinely work in a laboratory.  This course describes the hazards they may encounter and how to recognize them as required by 8CCR3203. It also reinforces the signage parts of the hazard communication standard and PPE requirement for entering a laboratory.  This course is not intended for laboratory workers.  Persons working in laboratories must complete the UC Lab Safety Fundamentals Course.

Course duration estimate:

45 minutes

This course is required for unescorted individuals who may enter a laboratory to provide a support function, but do not routinely work in a laboratory. It is recommended for those who are escorted by individuals who are knowledgeable of the hazards present in the laboratory. This course describes the hazards they may encounter and how to recognize them as required by 8 CCR §3203.
