Aseptic Technique

This three hour class focuses on aseptic technique. Discussion will also include anesthesia, analgesia, humane endpoints and euthanasia. Following a video, demonstration and discussion, participants then practice what they have learned during the hands-on session on non-animal models. Participants are requested to complete the online "Animal Care & Use 101" course prior to participating in any skills course. It is highly recommended that participants take one of the Laboratory Animal Skills classes prior to taking this course and be familiar their IACUC protocol. Enrollment is limited to 6 participants.

Located in the TRACS facilities off Old Davis Road just south of I-80 (880 Old Davis). Coming from main campus take La Rue to California. Right on California then right on Old Davis Road. Drive past the information booth and under the I-80 overpass. Turn left off Old Davis Road, into the 1st entrance. Parking will be straight ahead to your left; no parking permit required.
