Special Events Insurance

COVERAGE:

Provides liability insurance coverage for groups holding a special event on University premises.

TYPES OF GROUPS COVERED:

    • Concerts - excluding rock concerts
    • Educational Exhibits
    • Instructors of Park and Recreation or Before School and After School Programs. Instructors that are independent contractors can purchase this insurance.
    • Meetings
    • Theatrical performances
    • Seminars
    • Social Gatherings - weddings, receptions, teas, etc.
    • Speaking Engagements
    • Sporting Events-inside & outside

EXCLUSIONS:

This insurance does not apply to "bodily injury" to any person while practicing for or participating in any sports, athletic contest, or exhibition.

None

PREMIUMS:

Premiums, State Taxes & Stamping Fees vary depending on event and attendance. In addition to the above there are also Processing fees. The Processing fees as of January 1, 2001 will be $40 for Class I, II & III. Class IV, V & VI  to be determined by broker. SECURING COVERAGE:

Application must be completed by organization requesting coverage. The application is then submitted to Risk Management Services for review and calculation of the premium. The University department that schedules the event is requested to provide RIsk Management Services with a copy of the DaFIS document crediting Risk Management's account 3-1003019 for the premium processing fee for issuance of the Certificate of Insurance. Risk Management Services issues the Certificate of Insurance and the original is forwarded to the requesting organization with copies sent to the University departments.

NAMED INSURED:

    1. All Members or Event Holder

ADDITIONAL INSURED:

    1. Owners, Lessors, Managers of Premises
    2. Other Additional Insureds as Scheduled

POLICY FORM:

ISO Occurrence Commercial General Liability Form (CG0001 1001) including Premises/Products & Completed Operations, Personal and Advertising Injury, Contractual Liability , Host Liquor, Broad Form Property Damage. Liquor Liability is included when a separate premium has been charged. (Special Events Policy Outline)

SPECIAL CONDITIONS:

    1. Limits apply separately for each event.
    2. The Primary Liability Policy includes a $10,000,000 policy aggregate limit of liability which is the maximum amount the primary policy will pay for all claims up to $250,000.
    3. When required by written contract, coverage is primary and any insurance carried by the Additional Insureds is excess and not contributing.
    4. Bodily Injury claims to participants are not excluded, subject to an exception for athletic participants who fail to sign Waiver & Release of Liability forms. Refer to Section 12.
    5. Coverage applies only to insured event types as scheduled in the manual.
    6. Certain events are excluded from coverage. Refer to Section 4-2 or click here for complete list of excluded events.
    7. Provides 30-day notice of cancellation.
    8. Vendors, Exhibitors and Concessionaires at an event can be added as Insureds for an additional premium charge.
    9. Terrorism Insurance is included except when the Event Holder rejects the offer of Terrorism Insurance
    10. Excluded: Real personal property you own, rent, use or occupy or in your care, custody or control.
    11. Excluded: Sexual Abuse & Molestation
