Chemical & Laboratory Safety

EH&S provides resources, training, and consultation to departments using chemicals. Regular chemical and laboratory safety training is offered, and chemical safety information (including MSDSs) can be accessed.

Each laboratory needs to have a specific safety plan that describes the hazards in the laboratory and how workers should protect themselves from the hazards.  A template is provided for users to develop a plan for their laboratory and unique chemical use. EH&S Subject Matter Experts will assist researchers to develop specific laboratory safety/chemical hygiene plans for their laboratory.
